Dream * Enrichment * Success

Liz Fischer, Founder & Director

At the age of three, I attended the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular in New York City, where I saw the Rockettes perform. After the show, I turned to my mother and whispered, "Someday, I am going to dance on that stage." That spring, I began my first ballet class.

For 16 years, I studied under Leslie Updyke at Leslie School of Dance in Elmira, New York. My training continued with various instructors and workshops, including the Radio City Rockette Summer Intensive, The World Jazz Dance Conference, and Rhee Gold’s Teaching Conference.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Communication from Mercyhurst University and had the honor of performing with SoMar Dance and the Erie Bayhawks Dance Team. In addition to performing, I taught at Erie Dance Theater, where I founded and directed the Competition Team.

My journey then led me to New York City, where I taught and performed, building valuable connections in the process. I worked with the Kinderdance® franchise and Broadway Performing Arts Center, teaching over 400 students weekly. During this time, teaching became my primary focus, allowing me to inspire and positively impact hundreds of students.  When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, I chose to take control of my future, continuing to teach virtually while planning my move to Colorado.

In Colorado, I began working for Lululemon, where I’ve advanced over the past four years to my current position as Assistant Manager of Operations. This role has honed my skills in strategic planning, operations, and management, which have directly influenced how I run the Artist in Movement Intensive. I also began teaching at Premiere School of Dance, further refining my teaching methods. In addition, I continued to direct Leslie School of Dance’s Summer Dance Camp, a program I once attended as a child. That experience not only shaped my early love for dance but also inspired me to create my own intensive. Returning to the camp as a director allowed me to give back to the

dance community that helped shape me.

The Artist in Movement Intensive is the culmination of 25 years of experience, and it is my honor to pass on the skills and knowledge I’ve gained to the next generation of dancers, supporting their dreams and growth.
